The other day, I deleted the Mac and iOS apps from my devices because I couldn't remember the last time I used Skype. Skype was my go-to video conferencing platform for years. However, there's a workaround we will be able to carry out to patch Skype to work with your OS version as well. Skype recently did an update that will only offically support Mac OS X 10.9 (and later versions) from now on. This July 2017!!
